The Shoes Are Stepping into Fall

Lakeside jamming at Fiddlin' Bear
While the Shoes haven't exactly been cooling their heels this summer, the next couple of months are gonna be even more busy. In preparation for that, we're kicking back in the Poconos this coming weekend, recharging our musical batteries with the extended oldtime music community. The event is officially called Fiddlin' Bear, informally known as Lake Genero. No stage, no program, just a great bunch of likeminded folks who come together for a long weekend of music and merriment to cap off the summer. Twenty bucks per person gets you a campsite for the whole weekend, Friday through Monday. Kids and pets welcome! If you want to know what oldtime music is all about, this is the place to find out.
In September, the Shoes will be stepping out in various locations around the Hudson Valley: Rosendale, Hudson, New Paltz, Gardiner, High Falls, Accord, no telling where we might turn up next. We'll be posting those events so give us a like on FaceBook if you want to see the updates. And save the date Sept. 28th, this is the one event you don't want to miss: the Rondout Valley Growers Association 10th anniversary Barndance and Local BBQ. Tickets on sale now, get yours now and we'll see you there!
