Spring in the Valley!

 Homegrown music!

The first day of Spring sure feels a lot like summer. Lots of folks, myself included, are getting out in the garden already and farmers are getting busy in their fields, so the abundance of the Hudson Valley Farmers Markets will be here soon. And given the rural nature of old-time music, we always enjoy getting out and playing some tunes at the area markets and other agricultural events. Most of these events have little or no money available for bands but we like to think that honoring the old-time tradition of music in the marketplace, and it helps that we usually get something to eat.

Spring Plow Day 2011

The Shoes will be kicking things off at the Hudson Valley Draft Horse Association Spring Plow Day on Saturday, April 28th at Saunderskill Farms, we had a great time there last year and we're looking forward to it. Later in the spring and summer we'll be showing up at various Farmers' Markets and fairs around the area. We're updating the schedule constantly but here's the current lineup, hope to see you out there:
